Hello White Ash fans,

Sorry for the delay, but next month, Conor will be starting on White Ash 08. We're still deciding when to launch the Kickstarter for it. The likely timeline now is late January/ early February. We want to make sure the issue is done so we can get it to you as soon as the campaign closes. This will be a longer issue in the 36+ pages range.  So buckle and prepare yourself for the next installment, a LOT is going to happen. 

In the meantime, while we're really excited about all we've currently got in the pipeline (including Glarien 03 coming soon), we're always looking ahead.  To that end, we'd love to hear from you, our fans, about what else you'd love to see us put out. To aid in that endeavor, we've put together a quick survey to help us figure out our next year or so.  If you have 30 seconds, we'd be very appreciative if you'd fill this out.  Feel free to choose as many (or as few) types of projects that interest you.

But don't be scared, it's only collecting your responses (not emails or any other information). One of the things I love most about Kickstarter, is the ability a creator has to communicate with the fanbase that appreciates their work. Through White Ash Comics I'm looking forward to bringing you many years of stories you will (hopefully) enjoy. So I'm always happy and appreciative of any feedback you're willing to share.

San Diego Comic Con Update

Hello White Ashians,

I hope your summer is going well and you are surviving the heat wave that's washing over the country. Here in White Ash, we are BEYOND excited for San Diego Comic Con next week. And only a little of that has to do with the weather in San Diego tracking right now to be in the mid 70's (or around 23 celsius). 

Conor and I just love the convention, it's one of our absolute favorites. It's incredible to see all our fans and catch up with creator friends. And it's also a great place to sell comics. And speaking of which, our red foil cosplay SDCC exclusive cover (by Conor Hughes),  showed up on my doorstep yesterday and it looks gorgeous.

If you aren't going to be in San Diego and wanted one of these exclusives, you may be able to get one through our HISMWTC Kickstarter.  They are currently sold out (the Kickstarter has been going incredibly well) but we hope to bring a few back with us from San Diego that we will release as part of the kickstarter when we return.

If you ARE in going to be San Diego, PLEASE stop by our White Ash Comics Booth at L-10 in Small Press. I will be there (along with Conor Hughes) for most of the convention. We'll have copies of the above SDCC Exclusive available as well as our entire line of books. That said, if there's a particular variant or cover you're looking for, shoot me a DM and I'll make sure I bring a copy down with me so its at the booth so Conor and I can sign it for you.  And we are always happy to sign any of our books for free.

For instance, also out next Wednesday is this incredible cover for The Walking Dead.  It's part one of six connecting covers by our very own Conor Hughes.

So if you want that, or anything else signed, come by L-10...

...that is aside from Thursday from 1pm to 2pm where neither Conor nor I will be at the booth. Instead you can find us at the official Kickstarter Booth (1632)doing a signing. We're thrilled that Kickstarter has started attending major conventions and think this could be an incredible way going forward for creators who might not normally be able to have a presence at a larger con, be able to have table space for at least a little bit.

Aside from Kickstarter, I'm going to be on a few fun panels. Here's my full Con schedule.

I will try to post a tweet or two with pictures from the con, but we may go dark for a bit. If you reach out to us, apologies in advance if your response is delayed. It can be pretty chaotic.  But it's also wonderful. If you are a comic fan (and I know you all are) it's truly something worth experiencing at least once.

SDCC Exclusive Cover featuring “Lillian” of White Ash

Hello White Ashians,

We hope your summer has been off to a fantastic start.  Conor and I wanted to update you all on a few White Ash related notes.  First of all, as we mentioned in our last update, we hope to see you all at San Diego Comic Con this summer.  We’ll be at our tradtional booth in Small Press (L-10) but we’ll also be making an appearence at the Kickstarter Booth for a signing. (More details on that soon).

In addition to the full line of White Ash Comics that we’ve previously released, we’ll also have an all-new SDCC exclusive issue of HISMWTC #2 with a cover by Conor Hughes, featuring the women from Rassburgh college cosplaying as their favorite characters from White Ash and The Game (Lillian, Glarien, Mara, etc.)

The SDCC exclusive version of this cover will feature a red foil logo and have a print run limited to only 100 copies.  For those of you who would like a copy and can’t make it to San Diego, we’ve got you covered.  A very limited amount of those copies will be available though our HISMWTC #2 Kickstarter which will be LAUNCHING ON JULY 10th.

We will also have a non-foil version of Conor’s cover (and several other incredible variants) as part of this campaign as well as early-bird specials and limited edition rewards.  So make sure you sign up to be notified the moment we go live if you want first crack at our offerings. 

As for more White Ash, the plan is to launch Chapter 08 on Kickstarter this fall.  Conor is finishing up The Game 03 right now. But as soon as that’s done, he’ll be moving on to the next installment in the saga of Aleck and Lillian. Thank you all for your patience.  Rest assured, we’re equally excited to get back to everyone’s favorite coal mining town.

Is that a White Ash Walking Dead Crossover???

Hey White Ashians,

So some fun news dropped today that I wanted to share with you all.  No, it's not actually a WD crossover, but you'd be forgiven if you thought that.  Because White Ash Co-Creator and artist extraordinaire Conor Hughes was asked to come play in the Walking Dead Universe and do a series of SIX connecting covers for Skybound.  

You can read all about it on Multiversity or on the Skybound Website.  But I won't make you click over (if you're lazy) because I'm going to drop all 6 covers below.

Now I'm not saying Conor doing those covers is automatically going to make your White Ash Books more valuable...  but I'm thrilled that the larger comic community is starting to learn about one of White Ash's most treasured secrets -- the prodigious skill of Mr. Hughes. 

If you want to pick up any of those covers, you can find the info from Skybound below.  In a happy coincidence, WD #67 will be out the first day of SDCC... a convention that you'll be able to find Conor Hughes (in booth L-10 in small press) all show long if you'd like him to sign your copy.
