Shipping at 97% and More Ichabod!!!

Hi White Ashians,

Hope you're staying cool during this swelteringly hot summer.  I've been working up a sweat myself, busting out the last batch of boxes.  As of this update, we are at 97% with 32 packages left to ship.  

Rest assured, the last batch will be out in the next day or two. I was going to wait to do a post until we reached 100% BUT I wanted to give you all a timely KS update.  If you recall, when we hit $50,000 Russell Nohelty generously donated a  PDFs and over 300 Hardcovers of his Ichabod Jones Monster Hunter saga to the campaign to commemorate the achievement. If you haven't read the hardcover (or the PDF for that mater) now's the time.  Because Russell just dropped the last chapter of Ichabod on Kickstarter TODAY

Ichabod is about a mental patient who escapes an asylum and becomes a monster hunter during the Apocalypse, but doesn't know if he's killing monsters, humans, or if it's all in his head the whole time. This book is PERFECT for those who love irreverent comedy like Gaiman and Pratchett's Good Omens. Russell knows how to blend horror and humor in a way that keeps you cringing and yet, making sure you have one eye cracked open so you can see what comes next.  If you read the first volume and just want to check out the next chapter, Russell has a tier where you can pick any volume.  

But as someone who's read the first three, I can tell you the series just gets better as it goes on.  So if you liked number one, I'd say go all in and get all the rest.  But don't take my word for it.  Check out his campaign and get lost in the world of Ichabod Jones. 

Also out today, from the world of The Adept, Immortal Studios brings you Assassin G. 

If you've read The Adept, the series I co-write with Tasha Huo, you likely know Immortal Studios is building a large, interconnected Wuxia Universe.  Assassin G, written by Jen Troy (Super Girl) and drawn by He Tao, follows two star-crossed lovers from rival assassin clans in the 1980's.  Tao's art is incredible on this book.  Here are a couple of pages, but you can check out a bunch more On the KS project page.

If you were at Immortal's SDCC panel, you would have heard how passionately Jen and Peter spoke about this project. It's near and dear to both of their hearts and that investment shines through on every page.  Let's help them and Russell both get off to great starts today.

Shipping update and 4 more days left on Glarien

Hello White Ashians,

I just wanted to pop in with a couple of quick updates before the weekend. To begin with, I'd love to tell you we're finished with shipping and that all of the White Ash D.E. packages are out the door.  But unfortunately we're just shy of that mark.  Currently we're sitting at 85% shipped.  The bulk of what's left falls into two categories.  If you ordered a metal cover, there was a slight production delay on those.  They have now been shipped and will be at White Ash HQ tomorrow.  The plan is to begin sending those out early next week. The other group that's taking more time than anticipated are the backers with add-ons.  We just need a little more time to make sure those are properly packed.  But the plan is to have all packages finished in the next two weeks.  

Again, I'm sorry for the delay.  We wanted to get everything out by the end of July (as was the target date on the campaign) but to be transparent, in the three years since I'd been at SDCC, I'd forgotten how much a toll those five days can take on a body.  And I needed a bit more recovery time than anticipated after I got back from the convention before I could dive back in to the shipping in earnest. 

Speaking of SDCC, what an incredible time.  Beyond just being back in that insanity, it was wonderful to see Conor again (after three years). AND it was truly lovely to meet Mick in person for the first time.  Here's a great moment from the table where Mick was likely giving Conor some well needed pointers on how to draw.  

It really was a marvelous five days.  Another one of my personal highlights was getting to hang with Liana Kangas who drew the beautiful Glarien SDCC exclusive cover. 

Speaking of Glarien. Thank you so much to all of you who've joined us for issue #2.  The campaign continues to be on fire and is tracking to be our largest Glarien/ White Ash campaign yet.  There are ONLY FOUR DAYS left to go. We've unlocked a slew of stretch goals including another Glarien digital short story and this incredible throwback, Red Sonja inspired variant cover by Conor Hughes.

As backers of White Ash, I did want to give you a heads up, thanks to the incredible demand we've blown through our 3K first print run of Glarien and are down to our last few hundred copies of the first issue. As such, this campaign for issue 2 will be the last time copies of the first printing of #1 are available. Going forward, we'll doing a second printing with an all-new cover by Romina Moranelli.  So if you're a collector, this is your last chance to get a physical copy.

Fulfillment update and off to SDCC

Hello White Ashians,

We are continuing to make progress and should (fingers crossed) have all the packages out the door by the end of the month.  Currently we are sitting at 78% shipped.  

Emails are going out with tracking numbers, so if you haven't received an email yet, your package is likely one of the 286 remaining that will go out next week when we return from SDCC. 

If you are going to be at San Diego Comic Con, please stop by our small press booth (L-10).  Charlie, Conor and Mick will be there for the entire convention. Charlie will also be part of five panels:

While I (Charlie) am incredibly excited to be part of all of these, I hold special place in my heart for the Kickstarter one. I'm very excited to spread the gospel of comics on Kickstarter and the creator empowerment that it grants. One of the people on the panel with me is Kathryn Calamia.  I've internet known Kathryn for a long time and I'm so excited to me her in person.  

Kathryn also has a Kickstarter that's ending in two days for Bi-Visibility 2 -- Still Bi

This is a great anthology with stories all about Bisexuality, with genres including romance, sci-fi, vampires, superheroes, and reality TV! from creators like Lisa Sterle (Vault's Witchblood, Harper Collins' Squad), Chris Shehan (BOOM! Studios' House of Slaughter, Vault's The Autumnal), Amy Shand (Prison Witch) and Kendall Goode (BOOM! Studios' WWE).

As I said above this one (at the time of this post) only has 44 hours left.  So check it out.

Also ending on Thursday, from long time friend of the White Ash-verse, Monty Nero, is Death Sentence Liberty 1 to 6

Monty's been telling the story for several years now of an STD that gives you weird powers... and six months to live.  This 470 page indie comic saga has now reached its conclusion and Monty is giving Kickstarter backers one last chance to jump on board.

I've really enjoyed the humor and the twists and turns of the series. The artwork (including some covers by Monty himself) is just fabulous.  So make sure you take a look in the next two days.
